This year's Vans Warped Tour is "the most un-fun tour you can imagine" for Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack. And it's all his fault.

Biersack fractured three ribs after falling from a balcony during the group's June 18 show in Los Angeles. BVB ó currently promoting its sophomore album, "Set the World on Fire" ó did not perform at the first few dates, though Biersackís bandmates hit the road to meet fans and sign autographs. Now, however, he's back with "a very cautious clean bill of health" ó medicated, heavily bandaged and under a nurse's care at every stop, but still vowing to make the best of the situation.

"There's no drinking, no partying, just rest and then playing," Biersack, 20, says. "I won't be able to be mobile on stage; I'll have to come up with grand hand gestures to entertain the audience. To me itís all about getting onstage and giving the fans my best."

BVB, fortunately gets its "first real break of the year" after Warped Tour ends and the group plays the Sunset Strip Music Festival on Aug. 20 in West Hollywood. Australia beckons in September, and during the fall the group will also play Europe, return to North America in November and finish the year in South America ó with Biersack planning to be fully recovered.

"Roughly, I think it takes about four months for ribs to be fully healed, two months for me to stop feeling the pain of it," says Biersack, who plans to start writing for BVBís next album during the break. "So, yeah, hopefully by the time fall rolls around I'll be in much better shape than I am now."

The Vans Warped Tour takes place at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, in the parking lots surrounding Comerica Park, 2100 Woodward Ave., Detroit. Tickets are $34 in advance, $37 day of show. Call 313-477-6600 or visit www.olympiaentertainment.com.
