This week's hot new music releases include:

* American Authors, "What We Live For" (Island): For its sophomore album the Boston quartet again teams with the producers and co-writers of its 2013 smash "Best Day of My Life."

* Bat For Lashes, "The Bride" (Warner Bros.): British singer and songwriter Natasha Khan returns to her "day job" after an outing with the side project Sexwitch.

* blink-182, "California" (BMG): The long-lived punk trio's first new album in five years is also its first with new guitarist Matt Skiba after the acrimonious departure of co-founder Tom DeLonge.

* Eric Clapton and Guests, "Crossroads Revisited" (Rhino): A three-disc compilation of highlights from Clapton's all-star festivals, who's who affairs populated by Hall of Famers such as Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Carlos Santana Steve Winwood, James Taylor and many more.

* Fates Warning, "Theories of Flight" (Inside Out): The heavy rockers from Hartford take wing again on their 12 album, featuring 10-minute-plus opuses such as "The Light and Shade of Things" and "The Ghosts of Home."

* Maxwell, "blackSUMMERS'night" (Columbia): The second entry in the R&B auteur's planned trilogy comes nearly seven years after "BLACKsummers'night" introduced the series.

* Van Zant, "Red White and Blue: Live" (Loud & Proud): It's been a decade since Southern rock brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant performed the Georgia show captured here, but their own material as well as Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special favorites haven't aged a bit.

* Sara Watkins, "Young In All The Wrong Ways" (New West): The Nickel Creek veteran's latest solo outing features guest appearances from My Morning Jacket's Jim James and I'm With Her bandmates Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O'Donovan.

Also Out: Jacob Collier, "In My Room" (Membran); Con Brio, "Paradise" (Guerrilla); Grace, "FMA" (RCA); Chelsea Grin, "Self Inflicted" (Rise); Tomi Lunsford, "Come On Blue" (Seedbank); Marks, "The Modern LIfe" (self-released); Onsen, "Earthquake Weather" (Cosmic Dreamer)

From The Vaults: David Bowie, "I Dig Everything: The Pye Years 1966" (Sanctuary); Kate & Anna McGarrigle, "Promto Monto" (Omnivore); Survivor, "The Definitive Collection" (Real Gone)
