This week's hot new music releases include:

Anderson/Stolt, "Invention of Knowledge" (InsideOut): Former Yes frontman Jon Anderson teams with prog guitar hero Roine Stolt of Transatlantic and the Flower Kings on a set of expansive, intricate songs suites.

Biffy Clyro, "Ellipsis" (Warner Bros.): The seventh studio set from the Scottish modern rock trio was recorded in Los Angeles with co-producer Rich Costey (Muse, Sigur Ros, Jane's Addiction, etc.)

Chevelle, "The North Corridor" (Epic): The Chicago trio's eighth studio album marks its third collaboration with producer Joe Barresi and hearkens back to the heavier rock of the group's earlier releases.

The Eagles, "Beacon Theatre, New York 1974" (Zip City): Taken from a radio broadcast, this vintage set captures the late Glenn Frey and company in full flight, joined by Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne on several songs.

Heart, "Beautiful Broken" (Concord): The sister duo's latest features a guest vocal from Metallica's James Heftield and string arrangements from the legendary Paul Buckmaster.

Magic, "Primary Colors" (RCA) (Latium/RCA): The Toronto reggae-pop quartet's second sports a guest spot from Sean Paul on the first single, "Lay You Down Easy."

Schoolboy Q, "Blank Face LP" (Interscope): The California rapper's fourth full-length album includes features from Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Jadakiss, Anderson Paak, Miguel and more.

Switchfoot, "Where the Light Shines Through" (Vanguard): The San Dieo modern rockers switch labels and reunite with co-producer John Fields -- who helmed their 2003 breakthrough "The Beautiful Letdown" -- on their 10th studio outing.
