This week's new and noteworthy music releases...

John Gorka, "Before Beginning: The Unreleased I Know" (Red House): The New Jersey singer-songwriter trolls his vaults for a batch of unreleased material recorded during 1985 in Nashville, with guest appearances by Shawn Colvin and Lucy Kaplansky.

hed (p.e.), "Forever!" (Pavement): The Florida headbangers are as hard-hitting as ever, introducing a pair of new members on their 11th album.

Stephen Marley, "Revelation Part II: The Fruit Of Life" (Ghetto Youths International): The reggae progeny veers from the roots style of the first "Revelation" album to embrace more hi-hop styles via collaborations with Pitbull, Iggy Azalea, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Dead Prez, Black Thought andmore.

Periphery, "Periphery III: Select Difficulty" (Sumerian): The Washington, D.C., prog rock troupe follows 2015's epic pair of "Juggernaut" albums with an album that's more modest in size but not creative ambition.

Keith Sweat, "Dress To Impress" (RAL/Keith Sweat): The New Jack Swing pioneer is still smooth and suave on his first new album in five years.

Twisted Sister, "Metal Meltdown" (Loud & Proud): The retiring glam-rockers bring out the first of a series of four live CD/video releases planned for this year, this one from a May 2015 show in Las Vegas paying tribute to late drummer A.J. Pero.

Also Out: Black Crown Initiate, "Selves We Cannot Forgive" (eOne); Crown The Empire, "Retrograde" (Rise); Despised Icon, "Beast" (Nuclear Blast); Pasquale Esposito, "...Celebrates Enrico Caruso" (Notable); Euge Groove, "Still Euge" (Shanachie); Karmakanic, "Dot" (Inside Out); Sophie Lee, "Traverse This Universe" (KingMoon); Merzbow/Haino/Paindi, "An Untroublesome Defencelessness" (RareNoise); Revocation, "Great Is Our Sin" (Metal Blade); Hezekiah Walker, "Azusa -- The Next Generation 2: Better" (eOne);
