This week's new and noteworthy music releases include...

Alter Bridge, "The Last Hero" (Caroline): The Creed spinoff's fifth studio album continues the group's long association with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette.

Melissa Etheridge, "MEmphis Rock and Soul" (Stax): Etheridge hunkered down at famed Royal Studios to record versions of songs by the Staples Singers, Sam & Dave and more -- touching up a few of the lyrics along the way.

Barry Gibb, "In The Now" (Columbia): The eldest and sole surviving Bee Gee's second solo album comes a whopping 32 years after his first.

Green Day, "Revolution Radio" (Reprise): After 2012's over-ambitious trio of albums, Green Day is back to being punky and punchy on this self-produced 12-songs set.

Norah Jones, "Day Breaks" (Blue Note): The singer-songwriter turns the focus back to piano on her sixth studio album, mixing originals with covers of songs by Neil Young, Duke Ellington and Horace Silver.

Loretta Lynn, "White Christmas Blue" (Legacy): The first major holiday album is the country icon's first seasonal offering in 50 years.

OneRepublic, "Oh My My" (Mosley Music/Interscope): The polished pop-rock group's fourth album includes a collaboration with Peter Gabriel on "A.I.," a track inspired by the movie of the same name.

Phish, "Big Boat" (JEMP/ATO): The king of jam bands reunites with producer Bob Ezrin after a successful turn on 2014's "Fuego."
